European indices close mixed on the day. German DAX comes off its record close yesterday.

The major European indices are closing mixed on the day. The German DAX is lower after closing at a record level yesterday and hundred is also down today.

A snapshot of the closing levels shows:

German DAX, -0.57%

France’s CAC, +0.18%

UK’s FTSE 100, -0.37%

Spain’s Ibex, +0.15%

Italy’s FTSE MIB, +0.18%

For the trading week:

German DAX, +3.19%. The index has been up for six consecutive weeks

France’s CAC, +2.58%, The index has been up for six consecutive weeks.

UK’s FTSE 100, +0.37%. The index has been up for three consecutive weeks

Spain’s Ibex, +2.10%. The index has been up for eight consecutive weeks

Italy’s FTSE MIB, +2.49%. The index has been up for three consecutive weeks

For the year, all the major indices except the UK’s FTSE 100 are up over 10% led by the German DAX up 12.93%.

UK’s FTSE 100, +6.84%

Spain’s Ibex, +11.74%

Italy’s FTSE MIB, +11.09% by comparison

In comparison to the US:

Dow industrial average +4.91%
