Just when the EU looks to have settled one thing on the tariffs front, they are now getting thrown another curveball by the US. Adding that it is on track to ensure the implementation of the supposed trade deal with the US by the end of June. In lieu of that, the EU says that it expects the US to “fully respect the terms of the trade deal”.
In other words, sneaking in additional tariffs on other grounds is not part of that surely.
But knowing Trump, promises hardly matter and so do any deals at the end of the day. Anything that is said or done after the fact will supplant any previous agreement as and when he feels like it
